This is the first of 5 catch up posts I’ll be unleashing on the blog over the next 2 weeks. Where do I start with the Millards? They are some of our dear, dear friends, and they have such a wonderful, loving nature about them. I’m so glad that they are in our lives. In fact, Jenny and I have known them since before we were even married. Crazy, huh? We just keep growing closer and closer, and it’s so wonderful to watch my little ones play with theirs.
I would like to point out that this session left me feeling like I accomplished what I want to do with our photography. It’s nice to capture portraits of kiddos playing in a park, or families in “grungy” urban areas, but I feel like I was put on this earth for more than that. I want to capture families being themselves, laughing with each other, playing with each other. Images where you can see the love that a family shares. The connections. The snuggles. The laughter. And every family is unique. That’s why this session pulls at my little heartstrings. Because it was shot in and around their home. They were just being themselves. Nothing more and nothing less. 20 years down the road, aren’t these the types of images you want of your family?
