The Canvas Sale!!!

Posted by on Jan 30, 2010 in Business News | No Comments

It’s almost here!!  The canvas sale you’ve been waiting for is almost here!  You know that canvas you’ve been dying to order, but keep putting off?  Well, the waiting is almost over.  Beginning February 1st and ending at midnight on Valentine’s Day, we’ll be running a sale on our canvas prints.  25% off.  Wait, did you read that right?!  25% off?!  Yep.  And it’s only going to last two weeks, so mark your calendars.  And don’t miss this sale, because you can be sure it will be the only time in 2010 that we will have our canvas prints on sale.

You can also pre-order a canvas from your upcoming portrait session or wedding during this sale.  Send me an email to find out how.

If you need your online gallery reactivated, please send me an email.

No post is complete without a picture, so here’s one of my favorites that didn’t make the blog last year. I just love that little smile!

Workshop Time!

Posted by on Jan 4, 2010 in Business News | One Comment

Here’s the deal. Due to popular demand, I’m teaming up with Kelley for a few seasons of workshops, non-shooting related (hey, it’s super cold outside).  Kelley will be covering the wonderful world of Photoshop and editing, and if you’ve never met Kelley, she’s a master in efficient & beautiful  post processing. I’ll be covering business workflow, organization, planning, and basic accounting, you know, the stuff that isn’t normally taught 🙂

This first season will last four weeks, and we’ll follow it up with another four week session to build on what you’ve learned this spring.

Josh’s Edit: Both Jenny and I feel that it’s time for us to start giving back and working with some photographers on topics that aren’t normally covered in most workshops.  Jenny has her MBA in Accounting, and I have my MBA with an emphasis on Entrepreneurship.  I’ll be hanging around while Jenny is teaching offering bits and pieces of advice as well.  Oh, and my wife is a freakin’ genius when it comes to the business stuff.  Without her, I’m pretty sure we would have been out of business by now.

So what are you waiting for?? Email to reserve your spot!

Robert Randolph & the Family Band

Posted by on Sep 30, 2009 in Concerts | No Comments

I love to shoot concerts for fun. On Saturday I had the opportunity to shoot one of my favorite guitarists, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, at Crossroads behind Grinders. These dudes can flat out PLAY!!!! They put on an amazing show & their music is so positive and uplifting that you leave feeling absolutely wonderful.

I also met a couple of rad photographers who were shooting as well:
James Allison
Chuck France

He just plays with so much PASSION & ENERGY!

Here’s a video you all should check out if you don’t know who Robert Randolph is…and, if you do, watch it anyway. It’s a great pick me up!

New York: Day 1

Here’s a few frames from our first day in the Big Apple.

I was lucky enough to get to see Kat Burns play a solo set at the Sidewalk Cafe. She’s the singer of Forest City Lovers, one of my absolute favorite bands. Check ’em out 🙂

The Dog to Be Named Later

Just wanted to share a few quick images of my parent’s new dog. She’s a 2 month old part shar pei, part chow, with an emphasis on the chow. She doesn’t have a name (and the names my mom suggested were kind of lame, sorry, mom, but they were), so feel free to leave a comment with any names that might pop into your head…again, she’s a girl 🙂

Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed at how much beauty is in my world. My wife, my kids, my parents, all our wonderful friends, the world in general is stuffed with so much beauty that everywhere I look I see it, it’s in the music that I have playing all the time (currently Amy Seeley’s Indigo Sky), I smell it when I snuggle my children close to me. I wish I could soak it all in, but I know that that’s impossible, so I try and enjoy as much as I can in any way I can. I hope that you try and do the same 🙂

These pictures of my kids below are just a sample of the beauty in my life this evening…

Tim Enright

So, I’m about 50 ft deep in the ocean backed up with some crazy cool images to share, but I REALLY want to let everyone I possibly know (and don’t know) about this amazingly talented singer that I heard about from my musical sister, Kristy (she’s a kick ass photographer also). His name is Tim Enright, and that’s really all I know about him. That and he writes some of the most amazing songs. It’s impossible to listen, I mean TRULY LISTEN, to this guy’s songs and not feel comfortable, relaxed, ready to explore, to just basically feel GOOD about life. So, check him out, and purchase his album HERE.
