Liz + Clay picked the perfect spring day to get married. It snowed the day before which is what normally happens springtime in Kansas City, right? Either way, the cold couldn’t stop these two from smiling the whole day. I shot the rehearsal dinner the night before, which is always a blast to do. It’s fun getting to know some of the people you’ll spend the next day with in a more intimate setting. Plus, rehearsal dinners are FULL of emotion. Win for everyone

We shot Liz’s brother’s wedding a few years ago, so it was nice catching up with some old friends.

Gena + Jeremy have been together FOREVER. They’ve lived a LOT of life in their short years. They rule at life.

We shot these in Topeka at Ward Meade Park. I’ve yet to have anything but a blast taking pictures in Topeka.

I met David at Liz + Steven’s awesome wedding in 2011, so I was stoked to be able to document his love with Carolyn.

They have a great sense of style (check out Carolyn’s sweet nail polish blog)!

They love ice cream (yay!), good music (double yay!), Jeep Wranglers (I miss mine), and loving each other well (triple yay!)

Just a quick update. I’m alive. Been focusing on being more intentional with my family lately, which has led to less time blogging. I’ll be back soon with a sweet wedding we shot earlier this year, but until then I wanted to give y’all an update on my portrait project. I decided to keep it going longer than a year, but since we’re taking less work this year, I didn’t want the Solar Photographers blog to turn into the Portrait Project. So…I’ve moved it over to our personal blog. You can keep following the portrait project here. I’m hoping to keep this up for years and years to come. How cool will it be in 5 years to look back and see how my kids have grown, what their interests were, etc, every single week…
