Saturday, we had the pleasure of shooting Maria and Jeff’s wedding. Last year we shot Jeff’s sister, Joanne’s wedding. Their dad is a pro wedding photographer, so it really meant a lot to us that they asked us back for this wedding! Anyway, other than the sweltering heat (I guess it is August in Kansas City), it was a good day all around. Here’s a sneak peek for Maria and Jeff…
I thought the kids were funny during the ceremony!
What can I say, we have tiny children. I have been wanting to get Max a big boy tricycle for some time now, his feet always seemed to be two inches short of reaching the pedals. So on Wednesday night, Jenny finally brought one home. We got him some sweet Hot Wheels knee pads/helmet set as well. Thursday morning, after breakfast, we took Max out to try his new bike out. He struggled up the hills, but once he got going he did really well. Anyway, enough typing, here’s a sweet shot of him cruising on his new bike. Don’t you love how his helmet is waaaaay too big?
Just thought I’d share some random pics taken over the last few weeks. It seems like my children are growing up so fast. I can’t believe all the things they do and learn and say. Anyway, hope you enjoy the pics!
Max couldn’t grasp the 1, 2, 3, go part, so he lost every time. It’s okay, though, I keep telling him that he should let the girls win everytime;)
I know it’s August and it’s HOT, but we are going to start booking fall portrait sessions in the next couple of weeks. If you want to get in for a session, make sure to drop me an email or give me a call SOON. We expect to fill the calendar pretty quickly. I am going to book up September first, and then I’ll start in on October early next month. We are running a special right now: if you book your session by September 15th, you can save $50 off your session fee! (Sessions start at $100, so that’s up to 50% savings!). Click here to check out our portrait pricing and here to log onto our proofing website to see some portrait sessions. And don’t forget to refer your friends! (And for those of you who have already contacted me, you’ll get first dibs on dates for your session).
Emma is finally a big sister… and baby Ian is so cute! He wasn’t very cooperative during our shoot, but we still managed to get a few good shots. Here’s a sneak peek for you Tasha (he’s beautiful, by the way:)…
Tracy and Frank got married yesterday, on a beautiful, sweltering hot day! The wedding ceremony and reception were both at the Uptown Theater. This is such an awesome location to shoot a wedding… I just love it! Anyway, we didn’t get to do engagement pictures with Tracy and Frank, so this was our first time working them, and they were so awesome! Things ran a little behind before the ceremony (as they usually do at weddings), so we didn’t have much time for the fun stuff. But we snuck outside during cocktail hour and had a great time doing portraits of just the newlyweds. We also got a chance to work with Reza and his wife who are awesome videographers and just nice people in general :). Thanks Tracy and Frank for being so much fun. We had a great time! Here are a few of our favorites…
Frank’s Mom sung an awesome song to the two of them during the ceremony. It was a tear-jearker!!
We had Frank jump off a wall…
And Tracy wanted to jump, too!!
Frank looking very tough
My favorite…the cake!
Cake cutting…They were smiling all day!
Tracy was screaming as they tossed her around to Hava Nagila!
Yay! It’s officially senior picture time! We just did our first 2008 senior the other night. Richard is really big into skateboarding, so he was really excited when Josh mentioned heading out to the skatepark for some of his senior photos. We started there, and then headed over to Mouse Creek at Longview Lake, where we got eaten alive by mosquitoes, but had a good time none the less. Richard is also in the ROTC, so we got some sweet shots in his uniform, as well as a few traditional ones to make mom happy :). So here’s a sneak peek of our shoot the other night. (P.S. If you know anyone in need of senior pictures, make sure to send them our way!)
So most of you know that we use this blog as a way to keep people updated with what’s going on around here, and also as a way to give our clients a little ‘sneak peek’ at their photos before we’re done editing. Well, one of the downsides to doing this is that, after all the photos are edited, I always see a few that I really wish I had put on the blog, because they are just that awesome. That’s what these are… my favorites, round 2. Zoey’s portraits are up on the proofing website now if you want to check them out. You should also check them out if you’re interested in seeing a sample album from a portrait session.
This one is for daddy 🙂
Last Saturday afternoon, since we didn’t have a wedding, we decided to have some of our friends over for a baby pool party and a bbq. Of course, I never put my camera down and here are some of my favorites from the afternoon.
Now comes the part where Jenny gets dumped on by everybody. It was fun trying to get these pictures with all of the madness going on and not getting the camera wet. By the way, if you hold a camera during a waterfight, people will usually not throw water on you!
And we even found time for a couple of portraits of the Millard Family. David was the one that talked me and Jenny into doing our first wedding all those years ago. So, for everyone who has loved their wedding pictures, you all have David to thank. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be doing what I do right now. Which would be a shame, because taking pictures for a living shouldn’t be allowed to be called work.
I want to recommend a wonderful website to you all. A lot of you guys read our blog, we get comments all the time about it. I would like to thank our friend, Kelley from Kelley-Photo for getting Jenny and I addicted to Bloglines. Bloglines is a program that automatically updates and tracks your favorite blogs. You create an account, then click on Feeds, then add whatever blog you want it to track. For example, if you read our blog all of the time, instead of just checking it randomly, it will show you when we post a new blog. All I can say is that my days at Best Buy are a whole lot shorter once I created my Bloglines account. It’s the ultimate time waster:) Also, if you have a Mac, you can download a Bloglines Widget that allows you to see the number of unread posts in your Bloglines account at a glance. So easy, so much fun! Check it out, and if you have any questions about it, feel free to shoot me an e-mail.
