I love shooting in new places. It gets my creativity going, and every shot seems fresh. This evening was like that. For whatever reason, I have never shot in Westport. Well, tonight, Deanna & James gave me that opportunity. You can tell how much they love being around each other. In fact, I didn’t really feel like I had to work very hard tonight, because they were cracking each other up the whole time, which makes my job easy:) I can’t wait for their wedding this June!
I called this a Just for Fun session because that’s what it was:) Eliesa was one of the photographers that attended the Anti-Workshop with me. We did this shoot outside of Bally’s on Saturday afternoon right before I left Vegas. Her husband, Judd, was hanging out with her the whole time and we thought we’d have some fun with them. We had a few other Anti alumni, but I can’t remember who all was there. Give me a break, I was working on about 3 hours of sleep:)
Post-processing note: I have been working on a cross-processed look that I really, really like, and I finally found it, and this was the perfect shoot to try it out. What do you think?
Eliesa & Judd totally worked it for the camera. I’m sure our paths will cross again one day!
What is there to say about Jen & Peter? I have known Jen since I was 5 or so, and I met Peter a few years ago on one of our trips out to Southern California. Jen & Peter are one of those couples that you are excited you get to take pictures of because they are so much in love! They were made for each other, and you can tell by how much fun they have at all times. Next August can’t come fast enough. I can’t wait to see these two on their wedding day:)
We started out at the Riverwalk in Riverside right by their house, then decided to drive around Riverside pulling over at any random location that looked like a sweet backdrop.
Today we met up with Jean and Jeremiah for their engagement pictures. We’ve been really lucky this fall with such nice weather, but I guess it could only hold out for so long, because it was FREEZING today. But I guess I shouldn’t complain. At least I had my big coat, hat, and scarf. But Jean and Jeremiah were good sports about the weather and we had a good time anyway :). We started out at Loose Park with a couple of shots by the one tree that isn’t dead yet. Then we headed up to the Rosedale Memorial Arch, a place we’ve never shot before. It had a nice view of downtown though and some pretty cool textured walls. These guys were super easy to work with and we’re looking forward to their June wedding… hopefully it won’t be this cold :). Here’s a few favorites from today…
This afternoon I met up with Clint and Kim down at Union Station. I’m not excited for this cold weather coming, but I am excited for Kim & Clint’s wedding this coming May. They were so easy to photograph and I’m glad that Clint put off his birthday drinking a few hours so we could capture these moments. Happy birthday, Clint, and without further ado, here are your teaser pics, Kim!
Locations: Downtown Kansas City, Loose Park
We had one of the coolest engagement sessions ever today with Jocelyn and Brian. Brian called about a month ago to schedule a portrait session and let us know that he would be proposing at some point during the session. Naturally, we were pretty excited since we’ve never gotten to do this before. So we started off with some really urban locations downtown. Then we headed up to Loose Park for the proposal. Here’s a few favorites…
