On Saturday morning, I had the pleasure of spending a few hours documenting the Adoptathon at Wayside Waifs. Now, normally, I’m there taking pictures when Wayside isn’t open, so I usually see a few workers, a few volunteers, lots of cute animals, and that’s about it. But, on Saturday morning, it was CRAZY busy! It warms my heart to see how many people volunteer their time and energy to help find all these beautiful animals good homes.
Here’s a few numbers and we’re on to the pics. The Adoptathon was from Friday through Sunday, and here’s how many animals found homes:
157 dogs
100 cats
1 rabbit
10 animals waiting to go home
268 Total animals in 3 days!
It was by far the most successful adoptathon they’ve ever had!
Note – that doesn’t mean they don’t have any more animals that need to go home, so head on up and bring home a new companion!
Yep, you read it right… we’re having a day just for doggie photo mini-sessions. I know there are a TON of you guys out there who are dying to let Josh take pictures of your dog. Here’s your chance to get your dog’s pictures taken AND help out a great cause… the mini-session fee is $30 with a minimum donation of $20 to Wayside Waifs. We’ll also be donating 10% of the proceeds from print orders to Wayside Waifs. Email me if you have questions or want more information. We expect to sell out all of the spaces quickly, so if you are interested, contact us ASAP!
Yep, that’s right, some more cuteness from Wayside Waifs. I ask all of my local readers to copy this text: http://joshsolarphoto.blogspot.com/2008/08/please-take-me-home-august-27.html. Good, now e-mail it to anyone who may be looking for a new friend to play with around the house. And on a side note, Kiefer found a good home last week, and that makes me happy
I forgot my notepad, so I don’t know the names of the animals
Here’s another installment of pictures from Wayside Waifs…so let’s get to the pictures!
First up is Keefer. If there was ever a dog that needed a great home it’s Keefer. I won’t go into the details, but he’s had a pretty rough life…and he’s still happy as can be! We took him out into the dog park and let him run around for awhile and he’s just the sweetest dog. I seriously can’t express how badly I want to see Keefer adopted before my next visit to Wayside on August 29th. Who’s going to make it happen?
