My buddy Drew came over tonight to film some footage for a Del Monte Fruit Chillers Contest. It had to be a video of you “chilling out” with Del Monte Fruit Chillers. The video stars the Solar Clan, specifically, Jenny, Max & Ava. As usual, I get the short end of the stick and get left out of most of it. If Drew’s submission is one of the top 10 videos, which will be announced sometime soon, I will definitely let you all know to go vote for his submission. There’s a Disney Trip that we could all go on. How sweet would that be? The video had to be submitted tonight, so he went home and edited like a madman and here’s what he came up with:

Oh, and you can view the rest of the videos here.
In the words of Max, “Woohoo!!”. Okay, so I’m supposed to be posting blogs about today’s sessions, but when I logged in, Blogger said 99 Posts. So I thought the 100th post deserved it’s own special post. So thanks to all you blog stalkers out there who keep us posting, and yay for the 100th post!
I have been so busy lately with all my wonderful clients’ pics that I’ve neglected to blog about my children lately. I knocked out some shoots, and Jenny went to bed early with a tummy-ache (we were going to watch some 24), so I decided to catch up on some personal pics. There are a lot of them, I apologize, but I just felt like sharing a bunch this evening. Enjoy!
The next series is from what I like to call “Photo Walks.” This is where I take a camera and go on a walk and take pictures of whatever I want, pretty simple, huh? Anyway, Max was a wild man and needed to burn some energy, so he came along with me. In this photo walk, it was pretty much pics of Max. He was practicing for his Gap ads.
I had to pay him $1 to get this shot, but it was worth it!
The next few images were taken while waiting for the Millards to show up for our photo shoot last night, and some on the playground while chasing little Josh Millard around.
Max brought his camera along to take a few pics. Here you see him lining up a shot of the fountain at Loose Park. Check out the concentration on his face. I keep telling Jenny he’ll be ready to take along on photo shoots as a second shooter in no time:)
Still trying to get a shot of Ava in this hat!
Max will be 3 next month, wears 2T pants, and they still fall down
The last series is from this evening when we took our kids to Boo at the Zoo. I didn’t get as many shots as I would have liked, but when you have a fussy baby, and a toddler who refuses to listen, it’s tough. Chasing him around the zoo while carrying the camera bag is not fun, but I should be used to it by now, right?
You can’t tell by this pic, but she had fun for a little while.
Here I am with a very rare appearance on the blog! Thanks, Jenny for this shot.
Max and Ava were excited to ride the train. We always go to the zoo, but always skip the train due to time constraints.
Jenny and I decided to decorate a pumpkin for the Annual Fall Festival & Pumpkin Auction hosted by the Raymore Chamber of Commerce. The Pumpkin Auction will benefit the Ray-Pec High School Scholarship Fund. We kept thinking and thinking about how we were going to decorate our pumpkin. We didn’t want any lame pumpkin, it had to be Josh Solar Photo style. After all, this was the first year that we donated one.
We couldn’t think of anything cool, then I had a wonderful idea. What if we had Max decorate the pumpkin however he wanted? Max was up for it. First, he wanted to make a car pumpkin, so we went to Target to find some supplies. We walked around for about half an hour and were striking out on the car idea. Then Jenny found some Mr. Potato Head pumpkin decorating kits. It was perfect! Max decided he would rather make an angel pumpkin than a ninja pumpkin no matter how much I pleaded with him to choose the ninja. Anyway, enough talking, you knew I had to document the event on film. Enjoy!
What would a personal blog post be without a picture of Ava. Here you see her struggling to put on a shoe!
So a lot of you have known this was coming for awhile, partly because you’ve watched our business grow and grow over the past couple of years, partly because we can’t keep our mouths shut when we get excited about something
. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, this is the ‘Bye Bye Best Buy’ Blog! Yep, it’s official… Josh now has only one full time job and that is photography! We want to thank all of you for helping us grow our business and get us to this point! And we want to thank you in advance for all the new clients you guys will be sending us in the near future
. Seriously though, we are really excited to finally devote more time and energy to our awesome clients and our growing business. So, since we can’t blog without pictures, here are a few (extra large) photos taken at Taco Night last night to commemorate the end of the Best Buy Era…
