Baby Nolan!

Ok, I finally got to do another shoot, and I know that Amber is anxiously awaiting this post, so here are Baby Nolan’s teaser photos! Oh, and on a side note, we shot Amber & Tyler’s wedding, and I just wanted to mention that we love, love, love when our wedding clients start having babies;)

This was my first baby shoot without Jenny, and it started off a little rocky…

But that’s nothing a little mommy and grandma lovin’ can’t fix:)

Baby Nate: 3 months

It’s hard to believe that Baby Nate is already 3 months old. If you all thought he was cute before, check him out now. I think he’s going to have red hair like his mommy, and oh that smile is so wonderful. Enjoy the pics!

I told you he had a great smile:)

Audrey has a new baby sister. Her name is Lily and I got the chance to take her pictures at 10 days old. Enough said, she’s 10 days old! You gotta love the newborns:)

Her room looked awesome in all purple

Max

Posted by on Feb 5, 2008 in Family Portraits, Our Life | 2 Comments

Last week, we had that one nice day of warm weather and sunshine, and I got to get some beautiful shots of my daughter. And silly Max was being a grump and not taking his nap so I didn’t get any pictures of him.

Needless to say, I had been upset all week. That was until I walked by our thermostat and saw that it was 65 degrees outside this afternoon. I was determined to make sure that Max got in a good nap so I could take some pics of him right around sunset.

Well, he decided to cooperate and we trekked out to the same field where I took Ava’s pics last week, and I’m glad he did! You couldn’t have asked for better light, and he was somewhat in a good mood. Here are some of my favorites.

This is probably one of my favorite pictures I’ve ever taken of Max, and I don’t really know why, there’s just something about it.

Max wanted a picture with Ava, but as you can see, she didn’t want one with him (on a side note, this is usually what my pictures of the 2 of them look like anyway)

Ava

It was 60 degrees (60 DEGREES!!!) outside in Missouri in the end of January, and I had to take advantage of the nice weather. I wanted to take Max and Ava out to this big field a few miles from our house with some nice tall grass in it for some portraits. Max decided he didn’t want to take a nap, so he didn’t get to go. I still trekked out there with Ava and my parents right before sunset and the light was perfect!

Here are some of my favorites from my 20 minute mini session with my beautiful daughter, Ava. Doesn’t she look all grown up now? On a side note, if anyone knows how to stop time, or even slow it down for that matter, could you please let me know? I’ll be 27 next month, and time just seems like it’s flying by. Anyway, enjoy the pictures!

It’s hard to believe it’s snowing like crazy as I type this and these pictures were taken 2 days ago. I’m so ready for the spring so Max, Ava, and Zoey can all play outside every day again.

Juliana's One Year Portraits!

Posted by on Jan 7, 2008 in Family Portraits | One Comment

Time flies so fast! Juliana is now 1 year old. We met Juliana’s parents when we first started our business a few years ago. We did their engagement photos way back in Winter of 2005, they were married in April of 2006, and then became our first wedding clients to have a baby!

It’s great building relationships with so many awesome people. I love that I get to be such a big part of people’s lives, capturing precious memories from the wedding day on throughout the rest of their lives. It’s also nice building those relationships with the babies themselves. Juliana, at 1, is pretty comfortable with both Jenny and I, and I think that shows in the pictures.

Now, it was hard to narrow the pictures down for our teaser. Once I transfer all of the pictures to the computer and back them up, I flip through them marking my favorites. After my initial run-through today, I had 36 pictures picked out as favorites, which is way too many.

Anyway, here are my favorites from our session with Juliana this afternoon.

Look at that face!

Natalie's Newborn Portraits

Posted by on Dec 29, 2007 in Family Portraits | No Comments

Today we had our first session with a brand-new (literally) client, baby Natalie, who is three weeks old. She loves to sleep, so we were excited to get a sleepy newborn session. But of course you know we are so exciting, that she stayed awake almost the entire time :). She was a great sport during the whole session and we had fun with Morgan, her big sis too. Here’s a sneak peek for mom and dad…

Lifestyle Session: Reichen

Posted by on Dec 14, 2007 in Family Portraits | No Comments
So today we had the most awesome session with Reichen! We’ve decided to add a new session to our portraits, the lifestyle session. We’ll be announcing all the details and pricing fairly soon, but here’s the basic idea behind these sessions… as you know if you regularly follow this blog, Josh takes A LOT of photos of our kids, some portrait style, but mostly just random shots of our kids doing what they do best, being kids. And honestly, some of my favorite pics of the kids are the photos of them doing everyday stuff.
Well this got us to thinking, hey we can do this for other people too! Funny how it was such a revolutionary idea :). Anyhow, Reichen was our first subject (other than Max, Ava, and of course Zoey!) for the lifestyle session and we had so much fun with him! We spent a couple of hours hanging out with him and his mom. We arrived just in time to catch him waking up from his nap, then he had a bath, grabbed some lunch and just played.  It was absolutely impossible to narrow these photos down, so there are a ton!
If you’re interested in a lifestyle session for your kid (or kids), just drop us an email.  Look for more details coming in our January newsletter.
I know you’re tired of reading by now, so just enjoy the photos…

I love this shot of Reichen and his teddy fresh from their morning nap

The color scheme and details around the room are amazing! Here is one of my favorite frogs (he has tons in his room)

Baby Nate: Take 2

Posted by on Nov 28, 2007 in Family Portraits | No Comments

This morning I jogged over to do my second session with Baby Nate, Zoey’s little baby brother. This time Zoey, or as Max likes to call her, Zo, got in on the action. Just like the first session, the second you take off his clothes, he wakes up and cries. Luckily, he cooperated for a few semi-naked pictures before losing it. Anyway, here are some of my favorites.

Eskimo kisses on Zoey’s bed. Aren’t they sweet?

Greenwood Extended Family

Posted by on Nov 19, 2007 in Family Portraits | One Comment
Location: Union Station

We don’t do a lot big family portraits, but today we headed out to Union Station for a huge extended family session. We got some great traditional portraits of the bigger groups and still had some time to have a little fun and get some portraits that really represent our style :). And these guys were great to work with… lots of fun and I only had to bust out my karate/ninja/power rangers kick a couple of times! Here are a few teaser pics…
