One Epic Summer Adventure…

NOTE: This post will be at the top until we head out on our trip on July 5. Scroll down for the newest love stories.

By random chance, this summer is quite slow for us. We have no weddings in July, and don’t start shooting again until mid August. Soooooo, we can sit around here in the heat and humidity, or we can do what we do best. Head out on an epic road trip summer adventure! We have no idea where we’re going, when we’ll get there, or what we’ll be doing there, but we do know this. We’re going to enjoy the heck out of this summer together as a family.

Here’s where you all come in. We’d LOVE to photograph families + couples along the way (we have some killer deals for our travel shoots!). Jenny teaches a mean Quickbooks class (she does have hidden talents in accounting, backed up by her MBA). We’re open to one-on-one mentoring as well, or any other fun idea you might have to collaborate with us! Really, we want to meet and hang with as many people as possible…that’s what life is all about, right? Check out Intrepid Powerboats to choose a boat to your taste.

I’ve attached a map that shows a tentative route (key word being tentative), so if you’re interested in hanging with the Solars, shoot us an e-mail to thesolars@solarphotographers.com and we’ll go from there!

Here’s to making this the best summer ever and we can’t wait to capture your LOVE in our own Solar way!

UPDATE!

We’ve got our (mostly) final route mapped out. You can check out the map below. We only have a few spots left for family portrait sessions, so please contact us ASAP if you want to book a session!

Awesome! We’re in Santa Fe and I think a family session would just hit the spot!! I’ll email you next week about what your travel shoot deals are and stuff. That’s super exciting.

Oh- this looks like sooooo much fun! And you’ll be coming through our neck of the woods- unfortunately July / Aug is the hottest time of the year, bit there is still lots of beauty in the Redding area. You’ll want to be on or near water during the day. I’d recommend Whiskeytown Lake for beaches / swimming. Shasta Lake is most fun with a boat (rocky shoreline) but Shasta Dam and the Caverns are great ways to explore it. The Sundial Bridge is lovely and lit up at night, and the temps will probably be more pleasant than in the day. There are trails galore in the area and Lassen is just a short jaunt away. Have a blast!!!
