We met Carey and Austin a few years ago. They got married on a SUPER chilly day in November four years ago and we were lucky enough to be there with them documenting their love. Last month, their love grew and they welcomed their first baby into the world.
Ben was born 6 weeks early and with a heart defect that will require surgery. Carey and Austin haven’t been able to take him home from the NICU yet and won’t be able to until after he has surgery and recovers. I visited them and got to meet Ben in person several weeks ago and I feel so blessed to have been able to photograph this little guy and how much he is LOVED!
Carey and Austin, thank you for letting me document your beautiful little family! We love you guys and we’re thinking of you and praying for Ben…

Nothing makes me happier than getting to meet the babies of past wedding couples we’ve shot. Witnessing two people unite in love is one thing. Seeing them hold, laugh and play with their babies takes it to a whole new level. Jenny + I don’t take it lightly we’re there throughout our people’s lives (if we’ve shot your wedding, you’re OUR people). Stopping time for those few brief moments so they’ll always remember how much they were loved. That’s pretty freakin’ awesome if you ask me…

Outtake: She was so happy she spit up at us!

It’s amazing what a year can do…so much growing up happens in 365 days. I see it in our own kiddos, and I get to see it in the families we get to photograph year after year. Different hair, different attitudes, different laughter. The Miller’s are such a joy to spend time with. We’ve had many lunches with Jamie, and play dates with the kiddos. So great to watch friendships blossom and be able to share this families’ smiles with you…

One of Banana, just because

Sydnee + Daniel…a tale of long distance love. A story reminding us that oceans can’t keep a couple from sharing a life together. Jenny + I were blessed to document their story on a beautiful day in Kansas City. I’ll never forget the dogs in the tux and tutu…the laughs we shared all day long (and Sydnee’s laugh is infectious!)…the waltz practice inside the Nelson before the reception began…Daniel’s family helping him get ready. Moments like that, the ones showing love between a father and son, a husband and wife, they stick with you.
